Project Goal

Geographe Excavation and Underground Power needed to freshen up their online presence and help drive more leads.

The site needed to be fast, easy for staff to use and keep up to date and well structured technically for SEO purposes.

So with that in mind, using a page builder or cobbling together a solution out of pre made themes was not an option.

Solution

A new theme was build from the ground up using industry best practices, and my favourite stack of Bootstrap 4, Sass, PHP and Javascript.

A Custom post type was built to display the projects and an easy to use interface was created to add/edit and update content on the site without needing to be an uber nerd.

The admin section was tidied up and a new dashboard was installed to make it more intuitive to use. (the default WordPress dashboard leaves a bit to be desired).

Training material was also included with instructions on how to operate the site and also resize and crop the project images to the required size for the theme.

To top it off, outbound transactional email was routed through Amazon SES for maximum deliverability to ensure no leads are missed and the site is hosted on a super fast Vultr VPS.
